Having your patience tried can be a painful and agonizing experience. As humans we sometimes yearn for that "instant gratification" that will ease the pain, and bring us the results we need to be happy. I suppose this is one reason for the things we do in everyday life. Instant Gratification due to our lack of patience.
Some instances in life require immediate attention. But it seems as though the petty issues take precedent over more pressing issues. In particular our emotions. We yearn to escape any bad or negative emotion that may be giving us hell at that moment. Some take a pill, some drink, and some may even cause harm to themselves or others. When in reality, taking a deep breath, learning from it, will have the most positive outcome.
Having a positive outlet for our negative emotions is key to a healthy happy life.
Over reaction can cause the world more harm than good. Most times we can over react out of trying to accomplish instant relief from our inner pain. In the aftermath we may feel better, but the destruction in our path is unmeasurable. After our good feeling has surpassed we may find that our pain is even greater from the duress caused by our anger.
In writing this, I find that it is a reminder to myself and the world. Before you react, think, breathe, and be productive in your response. The rest of your life may depend on it.
