LISTENING

This past week I probably experienced some of the WORST listening skills I have ever encountered. The difference between not hearing and not listening is very APPARENT. In a few of these instances the lack of listening was a display of the persons disinterest. If it had been once or twice over a period of time, I can understand. Only when it is every time I speak, it can be offensive.

In life not everything a person says is life or death. Not everything is important to us as the listener. But it may be important to the person telling you. Take time to listen and absorb what people are telling you. Dismissing someone as if they are an inconvenience is counter productive to any creation of a healthy relationship. On any level, albeit friends, family, business or romantic. Responsible communication is key to understanding one another, and growing from our life experiences.

We are players in a big game of life on a rock in the middle of a proverbial nothing. Each of our lives are as significant as the rock laying on the ground. Each and everything plays a role in the play that is EARTH and LIFE. Taking in all elements around us, and understanding them will help us to better understand our purpose. Our place in the vast scheme of things. Through listening and observation we can learn to be at peace with our own existence.

Profound as it may be. The mere irritation of not being heard was the factor in writing this entry. Thus continuing the never ending process of cause and effect. Where will this experience take you?
